Race 4 Excellence is a STEAM based, group mentoring program for middle school boys that utilizes 10th scale remote controlled cars to facilitate the mentoring process and practice skills for success. Participants design and paint the bodies and learn about the parts of the “Ready To Run” cars with emphasis on the motor. Aspects of the program have been monetized and participants must learn how to budget in order to complete the program. To assist them, a financial wellness series was added to the program to complete their preparation to build a future that they can be successful in. Race 4 Excellence meets once a month from September to June and there is a race competition during the summer.
Race 4 Excellence will be offering after school activities in 2021 and the middle schools will compete against each other and the winners will receive great prizes and recognition! There are a great many benefits to the schools and the students alike. The after school activity is similar to the mentoring program and can be adapted to reinforce the school's values/mission. The after school programs are open to boys and girls. To contact George please fill out the form to the right or send an email to [email protected]
